Watermelon Maple Smoothie

Summer smoothies can check off so many boxes and solve so many challenges.

Too hot to cook? Whip up a smoothie.

Not drinking enough and need to keep hydrated? Whip up a smoothie.

Overbought produce and need to use it up before it goes bad? Whip up a smoothie.

Juggling kids, work, and life in general, but still need some nourishment to help keep you going? You know where I am going with this…

Having a quick smoothie recipe that is simple to make, nourishing, and, most importantly, delicious is always welcomed to keep in your back pocket. We created a simple summer recipe that is chock-full of antioxidants, vitamins, natural hydration, and flavor.

This smoothie recipe contains two hydration powerhouses: watermelon and maple water. Both have been shown to help support hydration and supply the body with important electrolytes to keep fluid balance in check. They also contain important antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress and help keep the body healthy in general.

Greek yogurt contains protein and fat, two nutrients that help promote satiety (less chance of mid-day tummy rumbles). If you lean more towards the vegan lifestyle, feel free to sub the yogurt for a dairy-free alternative – just try and choose a brand that provides some protein and fat to get the same benefit.

This smoothie is appealing to kids and grown-ups, athletes, and busy parents. It is ready in a snap, and the flavor screams summertime.

Feel free to double this recipe and freeze some smoothie into pop molds for a frozen summertime treat!
